It's the holiday season. Besides the rise in crude and not a single new refinery since the 70's.......the price of gas always rises during holidays.

always rises during holidays, summer driving season, winter months cause they need to make heating oil, fall season cause of hurricanes, Spring for the damn Easter bunny. There is always a excuse for raising the prices.

The prices around here have stayed pretty steady not moved up or down. Was hoping OPEC would boost output and perhaps prices would come down some. Anyone else seeing big or no changes either way?

Oil prices rose sharply to about $90 a barrel Wednesday as OPEC members said they would keep output ceilings steady.

Expectations that a weekly U.S. petroleum supply report due later Wednesday would show a small decrease in crude inventories also supported prices.

Instead, the U.S. government data published Wednesday showed that U.S. oil supplies fell steeply last week while gasoline stockpiles rose, both by greater margins than analysts had expected.

Light, sweet crude for January delivery added $1.61 to $89.93 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange by afternoon in Europe.

In London, January Brent crude futures rose $1.28 to $90.81 a barrel on the ICE Futures exchange.

OPEC's oil ministers issued a statement after a meeting in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, confirming that the group would leave output unchanged "for the time being," because the world was "well supplied" and crude reserves were at comfortable levels.
Gasoline inventories rose by 4 million barrels, or 2 percent, to 200.6 million barrels, which is 1.7 percent below year-ago levels. Analysts expected stockpiles of the motor fuel to rise by 700,000 barrels.

Demand for gasoline over the four weeks ending Nov. 30 was 0.2 percent higher than a year earlier, averaging about 9.3 million barrels a day.

Bah, I'd probly die from the heat. It's refreshing to walk into the Silent Hill fog in the mornings in S.F. just have to watch out for cars. The hills aren't really helping with the gas mileage though.

ohh I hear ya man... thats crazy high!!! Something needs to be done to get it back to around 2$ cause 3-4 isn't going to do nothing but hurt the economy.

    $3 gas: America's braking point
After shrugging off high prices for years, American drivers are finally starting to cut back. Is it a sign of shifting habits, or looming recession?
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Gasoline demand has fallen for the first time in years as drivers appear to recoil from near-record prices, throwing doubt on America's seemingly insatiable thirst for fuel.

Growth in gasoline demand has been slowing all year. In five of the last seven weeks, the amount of gas that Americans consume has actually fallen compared to the same time last year, according to retail sales data gathered by MasterCard SpendingPulse, a research report that tracks gasoline sales using MasterCard, other credit cards and cash purchases at approximately 140,000 service stations around the country.

"With prices over $3 a gallon, there seems to be some real resistance from the consumer," said Michael McNamara, director of research for MasterCard SpendingPulse.

In some weeks demand has fallen by as much as 3 percent.

Although the public has seen $3 gasoline before, 2007 has been different. Where previous price spikes were short-lived, this one seems to be here to stay.
