    Cox Premier TCP Optimizer settings?

I just upgraded to cox premier 12,000kbps down/ 1000Kbps up from standard cox high speed 5000Kbps down. I haven't tweaked TCP settings in along time. I currently believe I am using cablenut software. I ran the speed test and the analyzer. Can anyone help me out. It seems I am getting no where near the max speeds. It could be my modem because its very old. I will purchase a new Motorola soon from best buy unless someone can suggest a better one online. Thanks

Your modem is faulty or too old to support such high speed as shown in the spike in ping times at hop 1.

    1 gw-shared (216.86.xxx.xxx) 158.630 ms 7.798 ms 1.234 ms

Come back for tweaks after replacing the modem.

I was thinking of the 5120. Check out our hardware review and data specifications at this link:

won't that TCP Receive Window limit my speed? When I change the slider to 5Mbps 256960 is the suggested TCP Receive Window. I have a 15Mbps connection down.

15mbps connection huh... go to www.speedtest.net and post a few test here please... test from at least 3 different locations cause routing has alot to do with results.

Speedtests showed varying speed from 2000+ to 7000+ kbps.

Do a tracert (not traceroute) to www.yahoo.com and post.

Tracert shows a spike in hop 2. This would be the cable line from the modem to the ISP's switch.

Log into your modem and check signal levels and compare them with those in this thread:
