Burke?
...It seems to be fruitless to inform people on the abuses of civil liberties by our government, especially the exponential increase following 9/11. I post links to articles, both from "mainstream" and "alternative" sources, quote the Founding Fathers, recite the opinions of Constitutional scholars and lawyers, and point to the Constitution itself, yet it just doesn't seem to sink in; the majority of the time, I'll see threads about the latest Maxim coverskank get 500+ views and 100+ replies, but my information gets barely any; that, or it turns into the same liberal vs. conservative dick tug-of-war. Thus, this'll be my last post on the subject(s). Here are the facts, once and for all. They apply no matter if you're rich or poor, black or white, man or woman, straight or gay, donkey or elephant; no matter for whom you voted, how much you pay in taxes, how big your house is, or how many flags you have plastered on your car.
The U.S. government -- and its ally governments -- are using the events of 9/11 and the specter of "terrorism" to carry out abuses against the civil rights of its citizens. You don't have to be a "conspiracy theorist" to see it. Have 4.2 million cameras curbed crime or terrorism in Britain? Do you really believe warrantless wiretapping will never extend to people other than "terrorists"? Is a police officer in body armor and wielding a machine gun really going to stop a terrorist from blowing people up?
Another attack, whether it's chemical, biological, nuclear or economic, IS coming. When it does, martial law will be instituted. General Tommy Franks has said this will be so, and the elimination of the Posse Comitatus Act and Bush's other "executive orders" giving the presidency sole control in such crises have paved the way for a massive federal takeover after the attack occurs. Sounds good until you see how Americans were treated in New Orleans. And the first thing the "authorities" did? They came for homeowners' guns. Everything except the continued lack of border and port security will be blamed, and even more offices will be added to government, and even more money siphoned to pay for wars both foreign and domestic.
An economic collapse is a reality. We all think of the Great Depression as some event in a history book, but all indicators point to an even more catastrophic such event happening to this generation. It will likely be a catalyst for the introduction of a combined union of the U.S., Canada and Mexico, all under the umbrella of "security" for our economies and domestic defenses against tearrrr.
The Snitch Society is here. Children, neighbors, teachers, and doctors are all encouraged to inform on their fellow citizens. The Cashless Society is also upon us. I'm guilty of loving the convenience as the next person. Debit cards make things a lot easier, that's for sure. But once cash and coin is no longer accepted currency, the government WILL have total control over you, because everything you do can and will be tracked. Implantable microchips are on the way. Again, not a matter of if, but when. The military are already getting them, companies are looking at requiring them for employees, and there are many people who think the idea of chipping babies in the hospital is capital. Targeting the younger generation is how government intends on making this a "no big deal" thing.
There are so many other things looming for us, and I hope more people break out of the robotic left vs. right mindset and see things for what they are. But judging by history, the majority won't; they'll welcome their slavery and then wring their hands once the truth falls on them -- probably in the form of a gun butt to the skull one cold night. As for me and many of you on my friends list, we''ll be in a FEMA detention camp somewhere, accused of sedition or treason. Hopefully we can kick rocks around the yard together...
Any guesses as to who wrote it?

Burke?
Success is a lousy teacher. It seduces people into thinking they can't lose. -Bill Gates
His Blog
I’ve been reading his stuff online for years now. People may think I’ve been busting his balls just to be an ass hole all this time, maybe now they’ll realize now that all I was trying to do is to get the man to think. To figure out who the real idiots are and who really needs their teeth kicked in on the civil libertarian front.
Burke and I may not be the best of friends, but when I say, “Burke is a very intelligent man with a TON of valid views”, I am being sincere.
Sliding down the banister of life ..........................
The reason "nobody" pays much attention to such reading is because most perople are in a state of apaty toward such things. When one is apathetic about something then one:
1. can barely communicate
2. sees the world around him as a sort of fog or mist
3. cannot tolerate solids (objects, reality)
4. has a low affinity for others (doesn't like others)
Thus, there are few folks who have the ability to confront such information as what is REALLY happening in the world today. Some are capable of confronting the information itself and fewer are capable of confronting the actual world itself!
But....it is NOT the govt who is doing these things to the world. Yes, the govy appears to be the cause, but the govt is only a pawn, a tool for tghose that are behind the current downfall of our present civilization. Call them bankers, corporate leaders, whatever you want to call them. There are about 15 or so such people who are calling the shots today, playing their own game of chess with us all.
They use governments and militaries to police the world. They use psychiatry to ensure that the peoples of the world are driven into and remain in an apathy about:
1. politics
2. world affairs
3. national affairs
4. financuial affairs
They use our current public edu system to ensure that future generations will be easily managable and stupified with false information, useless information and an inability to use their education in life.
They use the medical societies and pharma corps to keep the peoples drugged and ignorant.
They use the media to promote lies and propoganda. (they own the media anyway)
There is hope though. It will take a LOT of work. The solution is one by one, the peoples of the world must be made aware of the truth and must organize and do something about it, we must fight back.
How to fight back:
1. say no to psychiatry
2. say no to drugs.
3. read real news, not the present day newspapers.
4. stop buying newspapers.
5. vote for politicians who are opposed to the current mainstream democrat & republican idealologies.
7. educate yourself, use the public libtrary as necessary. (if we lose then the majority of books that contain truth will not be available)
8. be a non conformist.
9. rock the boat.
10. fight back any way you can that is legal & ethical & expose the criminals that attempt to suppress us all.
No one has any right to force data on you
and command you to believe it or else.
If it is not true for you, it isn't true.

There's not much I can say to this except that I've been agreeing with his comments about loss of liberty and the institution of a malignant government control society for years. It's one of the main reasons that Canada should stay clear away from the US implementation of a missile defense system on Canadian soil and start setting controls on who controls our crown corporations ( most are US owned ) and where we import products from ( China = bad trade off and too much dependence ) , basically Free trade was a mistake.
http://www.globalresearch.ca/articles/CHO411C.htmlTerritorial control over Canada is part of Washington's geopolitical and military agenda as formulated in April 2002 by Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. "Binational integration" of military command structures is also contemplated alongside a major revamping in the areas of immigration, law enforcement and intelligence.
At this critical juncture in our history and in anticipation of the visit of George W. Bush to Canada on November 30th, an understanding of these issues is central to the articulation of a coherent anti-war and civil rights movement.
The purpose of this detailed report is to encourage discussion and debate in Canada and Quebec, as well as in the US. Kindly circulate this article widely. The Summary can be forwarded by email with a hyperlink to the complete text.
Basically your government fu##in su##s
lol
I have to laugh now because long before Burke or anyone else here mentioned any of this stuff, I warned you all and basically was ignored or laughed at.
When I hear Bush criticizing Russia's president Putin for moving away from democracy and democratic reform, I even laugh harder. What a bleeping hypocrite.
Time will tell.
Bottom line.....willl American troops support the (old) constitution, or will they do as they are told and open fire on Americans, or round up the masses for detention camps when the orders come down the pipe. Russians finally had enough of oppression and people power took over and the troops backed them. Remember, troops are people too, and have families they love and want the best for.
I have faith in the American people, and the troops.
One day this will all be history, and the "awakened" public will take charge and reinstate the constitution as it was meant to be.
Canada join with the U.S. and Mexico as one political, economical, and military force?
Only if forced to!!!
Most Canadians I speak to on the subject not only see it as it is, but they also saw it coming. I guess living OUTSIDE the American box gives us an early view of events to come, don't know.
P.S.
Burke WAS a non believer in the years of my warnings, and if I remember correctly he even voted for Bush in the first election.
I have to beliee the vote was rigged somehow, becasue IMHO no one in they're right mind who saw him speak before his first election would consider him Presidential material.
Vote Democrat, the people who are against the current trend. Fill both houses with people who will make the right changes to put things back the way they were. It's your only chance, and probably mine (Canadians) as well.
Thing is, I can't vote in the U.S., so all you guys and gals will have to do it for me..
Thanks in advance.
Norm
One more thing.....Listen to TonyT, he's a very intelligent and informed guy.

Norm, you may have tried to inform other people here of what was going to happen, and sometimes that’s easy to see as an outsider. But I know as far as myself is concerned, I learned at a very young age what freedom is and how valuable the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness is. I was taught by a man who traveled the world trying to get the word out, and his name was Freddy.
So what? Doesn’t a man have the right to change his mind? Also, doesn’t an “I told you so” seem a little childish?
I’m trying to give Burke the soapbox to stand on and educate us, and in reality he probably thinks I’m trying to pull it out from under his feet and hang him. If anybody thinks it’s an easy battle on the civil libertarian front, they are kidding themselves. Damn near every person you try to talk to is either left or right, and they have their head so far up their own candidates ass they can’t see the light.
That’s why I stopped trying to talk to people about it. I simply got tired of the battle. And how am I rewarded for my silence? We as a nation wind up with some fool like Bush in office. Whose trying to take away everything that I grew up believing in and which this country was founded.
It’s not a political agenda for me, it’s a way of life. To do as I want and believe what I want, without intentionally harming those around me. And the reason I add the word “intentionally” in there, is I have mistakes and caused harm to other people but I didn’t mean to do it.
And Burke, again I have tried to give you a chance to speak up. Are you going to stand and defend yourself against those who oppose you, or you going to stand in the corner with a “everybody is against me attitude”?
The soapbox is yours………..
Sliding down the banister of life ..........................
Civil libertarianism is a strain of political thought that emphasizes the supremacy of individual rights and personal freedoms over and against any kind of authority (this may refer to the government, a corporation, social norms imposed through peer pressure, etc). Civil libertarianism is not a complete ideology; rather, it is merely a collection of views on the specific issues of civil liberties and civil rights. Because of this, a civil libertarian outlook is compatible with many other political philosophies, and civil libertarianism is found on both the right and left of modern politics.
The primary concern of the civil libertarian is the relationship of the government to the individual. The civil libertarian seeks, in theory, to restrict this relationship to an absolute minimum in which the state can function and provide basic services and securities without excessively interfering in the lives of its citizens. One key cause of civil libertarianism is upholding free speech. Specifically, civil libertarians oppose bans on pornography, hate speech, and obscenity. Although they may not personally condone behaviors associated with these issues, civil libertarians hold that the advantages of unfettered public discourse outweigh all disadvantages.
Other civil libertarian positions include support for at least partial legalization of illicit substances (marijuana, etc.), a strong demarcation between religion and politics, and, more recently and contentiously, gay marriage. The most prominent civil libertarian organization in the United States today is the American Civil Liberties Union.
In the past twenty years, with the advent of personal computers, the internet, email, cellular phones, and other information technology advances, a subset of civil libertarianism has arisen that focuses on protecting individuals’ digital rights and privacy. The organization most closely affiliated with this sort of civil libertarianism is the Electronic Frontier Foundation.

Think - I was generalising, sorry. I didn't mean every single member here was offside.
RoundEye, No, I don't think "I told you so" is childish. I think it re-enforces a persons thought patterns to THINK next time they discuss an issue. And YES a person has the right, and IMHO a DUTY to change their mind when they know the facts, instead of sticking to their story out of embarrassment. At least Burke has the balls to admit he was wrong. Too bad a lot of people don't have those balls. (excluding the women lol)
I have nothing against Burke, I never have. He's intelligent, he speaks his mind, and he's fairly well informed. I would get angry with Burke for allowing himself to get so close to being banned, when I know he can state his thoughts without abusing the rules here.
One phrase that just frustrates the heck out of me is "Hindsite is 20/20".
It's bullcrap.
There would be no need for hindsite if much more forethought were done before actions taken. If a low life, grade twelve educated man like myself can predict the future of certain actions, then I'm quite positive the thinktanks can too, and they probably did know the consequences re: iraq war, but actually wanted what they are getting.
Me I would have devastated Iraq so hard and so fast that Iran would have kept their mouth shut out of fear of the same treatment. (Although I would not have supported the Iraq war in the first place) When you go to war, you go big or stay home.
I know, I'm a bit off topic, but it all connects in some way to the original topic.
America has problems, and they need a steady secure supply of oil. So do many other countries, and water as well. War is the future, like it or not. So instead of playing games, and making up reasons to go bombard a country. Tell the truth, and do it, and do it big so other countries will get the point and STFU. When it comes to survival, it's every man/country for themselves.
Actually, the artical has some valid points. Decisions HAVE to be made for our very existance. Not easy decisions to make.
How would any of you handle the present global situation?
