OS. MBs are special -- they do not have a BIOS. They use EFI instead. You can load Windows on them, however (I have on my macbook pro)

so after reading up on efi, when the hell are pc's going to switch? soecially cause intel came up with it so it cant be that hard

    guess where close maybe

In November 2003, Gateway introduced the Gateway 610 Media Center, the first x86 Windows-based computer system to use firmware based on the Framework, Insyde Software's InsydeH2O. It still relied on a legacy BIOS implemented as a compatibility support module to boot Windows.

Apple simply make pretty hardware / software. And even that is subjective.

They're a fashion accessory now. Where they used to have the edge (computing power, flops over mhz was it?) they now sell the brand and the image. If anything, they've got some of the best marketing people working for them, you can't fault that. Frankly, I'm not keen on paying through the nose for fashionable hardware. It wouldn't be half as bad if the stuff wasn't proprietry. Or at least, it was until recently. Hardware upgrades cost a tonne.

Adding more $ of course, even that isn't the highest possible Quadro, it is GF7 series.
