Issue with Comcast 8M/768k Speed tier and new phone modem

    Hi,

I have Comcast HSI and current have the 8M speed tier. They just installed my Comcast phone and installed a new Arris TW502G Modem. Right away I realized things were not right. I was perfectly zippy before and now everything is sluggish.

Also it seems if someone is on the phone my speed drops below half untill they hang up. This never happened with Vonage. Here is some info I gathered..

Anyone have any ideas? I am thinking maybe I should have left things as they were. *shrug*

OK, just a follow up. 7 techs later they tried to setup an appointment to check my wiring even though I told them everything worked solid 20 minutes before they arrived!

The wiring throughout the house was replaced by Comcast last year. They replaced everything from the drop down to the house AND put in all new coax and splitters in after everyone in the house complained about bad cable to bad internet.

Long story short, they are coming back tomorrow to switch us back to the last configuration. Back to Vonage for now.

    Thanks!
