Post 'British Manufactured Gulf Maritime Border Map'

    http://www.infowars.com/articles/ww3...border_map.htm

In claiming HMS Cornwall was within Iraqi territorial waters, the British government and the media have covered-up the fact there is no agreed upon Iraqi-Iranian maritime border, as other bizarre coincidences and dubious circumstances surrounding the hostage crisis begin to emerge.

I am surprised this isn't making bigger news if true. Will be interesting to see if other stations jump on it or not.

I do recall the German media saying that Shatt al Arab area is contested between Iraq and Iran, so this doesn't surprise me.

One thing to keep in mind... just as the Brits were claiming that the marines were in Iraqi waters, the Iranians were claiming that the marines were in Iranian waters. Both sides would be equally wrong if there is indeed no official boundary, I'd say. It's not just the Brits claiming something here...

Iran's actions and hints of putting these guys on trial is IMO ridiculous. Hopefully they come to their senses.

    Yep.
People will forget what you said... and people will forget what you did... but people will never forget how you made them feel.

The chief international negotiator for Iran has said there should be no need to place the British personnel on trial.

Also, see this map and information:

    http://www.dur.ac.uk/ibru/resources/iran-iraq/

No maritime boundary has ever been agreed between Iran and Iraq. However, the boundary in the Shatt al Arab river agreed in 1975 (1) extends to the mouth of the river at the astronomical lowest low-water line, which is located nearly 10 nautical miles seaward of the high-water line that most maps show as the coastline.
