    Internet speed problem please help

    I have 10MBs speed and when i do a speed test im only getting around 1.3 and its not any firewall thats on. I dont know why its so slow its weird can anyone help? Also we had Cox dude come over and he was getting almost 11MBs on his laptop so its the pc itself...

    get rid of all the unknown oweners thase bhos anythign with no name or unkown owener remove

    disable the norton stuff on the startup it could be a part of thepromblem.

    It happened before norton and we just upgraded our internet before it happened also. I dont know if maybe cablenut or the TCP optimizer i used before the upgrade could have something to do with it after i uninstalled them. Thanks for the help ill let you know in a bit if the URLSearchHooks when i get rid of them speed it up


    ok it didnt speed up sadly enough anything else besides norton i can get rid of.

    The cause for slow speed could be one of many possibilities: wrong RWIN setting, spyware, bad Nic or bad security software.

    First post your TCP Analyzer report and scan your comp with Ad-Aware and SpyBot to remove all spyware.

    Since you upgraded your connection to I would try to leave the modem off for a bit then turn it back on. What trogers said is some good tips as well. I would also boot into safe mode then do another scan with both programs and a antivrus scan to make sure the junk gets cleared out.

    W00t thank you very much you guys are the F****** coolest
    when i set it to the settings you told me to it went really slow right after then i was like wtf so i put the backup back in and did a test and weee!!! lol thank you guys.

    speedtest sites give different results try a few others and compare the tests.. I like SG's here and speedtest.net's
