Hi All,
My Mom thought she'd be the first to venture into Windows Vista. I have run the tcp analyzer and tcp optimization tool, but when I try to apply the changes, Vista won't let me. I get an error (on all the user accounts) that I don't have enough permissions to make the changes.
I know nothing about Vista (plenty about XP though), but I can't seem to get past it ... can anybody help me out?
Thanks,
--Jim

Here's what I got when I ran the analyzer (the items in red are the ones slowing me down, how do I change them?).

well this is all I see as for hardware?
How much ram you using?AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3200+ 2.0 ghz
But still bottom line is the Optimizer isn't going to work prob with Vista.. Vista is already set to tweak the connection it picks up on. You can to over to www.tweakvista.com and read up and perhaps download the software to help turn off some stuff you don't need running etc. But I think if you plan on using it for alot of stuff including games ya should have gotten Vista Home Premium cause the Basic doesn't have the Aero feature in it along with some more things I think, I'm running Ultimate.
I am almost 50 and live two hours from my folks, my mom is in her 70's. The vista version she has is appropriate for her, it's a Dell preloaded, so I imagine they have done enough computers to know how much ram Vista requires. I don't think games will be an issue, I just wanted to tweak her connection for her. Thanks for the tweakvista link.
