can anyone help me with the settings for the optimizer??..

i normally get a dl speed of 1 MBps. connecting to cable and using a wireless router/switch with 4 port. 4 computers connected to it 2 wireless and 2 wired. I used to connect to a normal 4 port router and when am downloading using torrent i am the only one affected with the slow internet browsing and the other computers connected thru that router were completely unaffected. But now they are having troubles too browsing the internet while am downloading thru torrent. can also anyone telle me whats the reason for this?. thanks in advance.and would the tcp optimizer help me with this?

The speed test still shows your download speed at 1 MB/s or >8000 kbps.

When you run torrents on just one computer, the router is probably opening over a 100 simultaneous connections and using most of the available upload and download bandwidths. This is why your other computers connected to the same line suffer slowdown.

You should go into the setup of your torrent client (eg. BitComent or uTorrent) and limit the global max. upload and download speed and no. of connections to a third or half of what they are now set to. This would then free up the remaining bandwidths for your other computers.

i did that and there were a little change about that...what i wanted is that the other users will be unaffected or atleast can browse with a good speed. And just i said that was when i was using a normal router with 4 ports. And since i change it they are experiencing slow browsing too. oh and here are my bitcomet settings

    Max conn. per task: 100
Conn. to keep per task: 80
    Global Max Upload Slots: 8
    Max Half-open TCP conn: 10

Max. connection per task and connection to keep per task are set too high. Just multiply the values with the no. of tasks running at the same time and you will be in the high hundreds or even thousand. This will overload your router which can only handle 64-128 simultaneous connections depending on brand and model.

What did you set for Global max download rate ___ KB/s and Global max upload rate ___KB/s?
