Thread: Problems with audio

    Question Problems with audio

OK when I restart my computer my svchost.exe uses up all of my CPU for like 5 min. (I know its my audio thing because when I "end process" and I try playing music or something it don't work, so then I have to reboot.)
I wanna know if its normal for this to happen because I cant do anything while this is happing.
It hasn't happened to me before, just started happing like 2 weeks ago.

    Thanks.

Yep, I always keep my computer defraged and spyware/virus free.

open a command window and type in "Tasklist /svc" without the quotes and it will give you a list of what svchost is running
    AMD Athlon 64 3200+
    MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum
2x512 Corsair TwinX pc3200 in Dual Channel
    Chaintech GeForce 6600gt
    NEC ND3520 Dual-layer Burner
    2x80GB Seagate SATA HDD
    AeroCool JetMaster Case (black)

    Hrm..

Make sure you open a command prompt... then type in:

    Code:
    tasklist /svc
    Should give you a list...

Remove drivers, restart and then reinstall them.

SOmetimes it will help sometimes not (had to reinstall system).

It's not necessarily your audio causing the problem, to find out which sub service of svchost is causing the error you need to use Process Explorer. What I have seen as the most common cause of this error is Windows automatic updates.
