system running short on memory all of a sudden

Well, i don't know what the deal is, but recently, my system won't load up web browser pages or programs sometimes. For instance I may click to open up IE, and the window will pop up but wont load all the way. Ill x it out and retry it and itll try loading up again butstill not all the way. like icons will be misplaced, some things blank where there should be text. It's actually different looking each time I x it out and restart the browser.

When that happens, i need to click something off, like maybe another browser window or an AIM chat box, and it's good to go. Or I'll close out some programs running in the background. But even then after a while it'll happen and I don;t have anything to close out to open up some memory and I just have to reboot.

So...Just wondering f anyone knew what this could be? I had my virtual memory set manually, then decided to let windows manage it on its own and it still messes up anyway.

Have a look at task manager > performance tab
What's the memory look like there?

rt click My Comp > Properties >Advanced tab > Performance - Settings button > Advanced tab > Viryual memory - Change button > do this: (if still have 1-2 GB RAM)
    Custom size:
    Initial size: 1536
    Maximum size: 3072
    OK out...
No one has any right to force data on you
and command you to believe it or else.
If it is not true for you, it isn't true.

at this point i loaded up a bunch of internet explorer pages and they would only come up half way. Also if i go to start button/programs, the programs slide out window doesnt appear just a small little grey line, like it is trying to but wont work.

    Try running CCleaner

    Then a TCP/Winsock rebuild utility
