    VPN - DNS Issue

    Hey guys,

I hope one of you guys can help me out.

Ok, I VPN into a network. All my settings are given to me via DHCP. I get two DNS servers assigned. This is all fine.

However, the computer is using the VPN's dns as the primary dns to do address lookups. Why isn't it using ISPs(main connection, connected to the router) as the main DNS?

Its very odd. Sounds to me like the VPN is doing DNS Force Push. I can't figure out how to use my ISPs as the first DNS on the priority list?

It's very annoying as to why its doing it. Might be because my isp dns starts off at 194 and the vpn is at 172, so it may be using the first dns in numerical order.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

This is on windows. And the VPN client is OpenVPN.

    Cheers,

    Flukes

Depending on what you're using for a VPN client, you can customize your DNS, and choose wether or not to use remote gateway for your traffic.
