    HDMI cables...

Any reason to buy the $125 cables at BestBuy or are the $30 cables on eBay just fine?

    http://www.express-depot.com/product/HH-610

Thoughts? I need two or three, so this would save me a pretty good chunk.

BTW... I ran about 240' of 14/2 speaker cable this morning. I'm wired for 7.1 along with 2 outdoor speakers for Zone 2.

Should be putting up drywall within the next couple/few days.

I have a $12 HDMI cable I bought online and I see NO difference between the quality using it and my brother's $125 Monster Cable version.

Monster cables were on sale for yes >20$!!!!!!!!!!!! @ NCIX now they are sold out and will go back to 149$ and 79$

I am a big fan of using quality cables hoever i will NOT pay the over inflated prices for monster cables. DH or brembo could prolly help you/us the best. I also need cables

I am not sure compare the specs are on thease http://forum.ncix.com/forums/index.p...d=0#msg1222901

    versus thease

Picked up a 3 meter one for 12 bucks at our network cable supply place for my LCD....I'm not gonna get suckered into a hundge bucks for Monster ones. The one I got is beefier than Monster too on the ends.

I imagine you'd have access to wholesale sources yourself Brandon..from your company?

I am definitely NOT using Monster for anything anymore. Complete rip-off.

Thanks for the links and such, all.

Cat...to be honest, I haven't looked into it. Hmm....

BTW...the speaker cable I used was made by RCA and sold at HD.

The best buy is from Monoprice.

    Bluejeans Cable...

    Heartland Cables.....

All discount cables. The problem with HDMI is that the connectors for the most part are molded. This raises the cost of the cable.

Monster actually makes very good cable. For the justified price? Nope. I make a killer pair of silver interconnects for under the cost of their mid grade copper directional interconnets. Of course I'm not figuring in the labor.

HDMI is all-digital, so if there's connectivity between both devices, you're good. No need for fancy-shmancy cable unless you're running longer than 25', and the extra quality might help you hit that run.

I bought the $90 one from Best Buy and a $15 one online, swapped them in and out a few times and saw no difference.

Yeah...you'll probably never beat the price. No matter what is listed above at public retail sites...it'll be tough to beat the wholesale channels. I'd imagine your company could get them brutally cheap..we don't buy that much volume and I still only paid 12 bucks for my 9 footer. If you do serious volume with some place..I'd imagine you could break into single digits.

Then again....time is money..no sense is looking too hard for just a couple of bucks.

I said "yeah really?, "its kind of like buying a camera though you dont really know how good it is until you buy it and take some pics! have you ever hooked them up to see if you could tell the difference?". He said "no... ummm thats what we are told to say.

LOL... good call, Randy. I'm sure they are all like that. I just ordered 3 HDMI cables for $110 shipped via 2 Day FedEx. Not bad.

I purchased a few monster cables off ebay

    HDMI = 20$ for 2meters

    Component = 12$ for 2meters

hell of a deal but believe it or not I can hear the difference between a cheap set and monster..not sure if its cause how they are made to block out unneeded interference or not.

A little biased, but they are good cheap cables.

I dont think they are any giant leaps in the cords as say 10 years ago.

ex: a good quality think gold 7$ rca vs a skinny chep 2$ rca teher is going to be a big difference and worth the extra money IMO. However paying 149$ for a hdmi monster cable that you can get off ebay for 20$ vs a 12$ hdmi . I would say save the 8$ or the 137$<( if your a poo hole money chucker).

bottom line >If you cant see or hear the difference then dont waste your money!

second that on bluejeanscable.com. Probally the best bang for the buck. I just got a 15' HDMI for something like $39 shipped.

The deal with monster is about a 80% retail markup. Thats why Best Buy really pushes them. They aren't bad cables, just 75% overpriced.

Between monoprice and bluejeanscable.... bluejeanscable's cable are silver coated and monoprices are tin.

    FYI
I know you are, but what am I?
