When does a cars warranty start? Is it from the date the car was sold? I have a 2002 Kia, with a 100,000 Kms / 5 yr. warranty. There is 78,000 Kms on it now. I was wondering if the warranty started Jan. 1 off 2002 or from the date it was sold. Thanks to anyone who can help me.

Date you bought the car and drove it off the lot, unless of course you bought it used and then it was the date the car was driven off the lot by the person who bought it new.
I bought a used truck last year and they told me when it was bought for warranty purposes.
