I just failed our recall test

    w00t!

My cell goes off at 1900 during dinner. I never answer the phone while eating out of respect for my wife and course the person calling. I chew loudly. Anywho...

I put a load of wash in, hopped in the shower and after I was done I checked the caller id. It was my boss. I called him back and he said I failed the test. What test? He said actually everyone in my section/dept did. We didn't answer or cells in case it was an emergency recall back to base. You know the whole terrorist stuff....yada yada yada.

He actually took note of the time it took for each of us to return the call. Mine was 46 minutes. lol Then he proceeded to asked me why I didn't answer when I always answer the phone. Told him in between the things I noted above my misses and I decided to have you know.....have sex.

    ----silence
    ----ummmm
    ----ahhhhh
    ----ok
    ----carry on
    ----have a good night
    ----click

It all seriousness I just practically stepped through the door after a 13 hour day and said to hell with the cell. Tired of the damn thing ringing every night at dinner no matter what time we eat.

My boss needs to get a life. Now all my guys are calling me asking WTF was that all about. I had to send a mass distro text to everyone instead of repeating the whole thing over and over again. I'm call diverting my number to my bosses. Can't wait to see how this goes over.

Well, 1-2 mins for sex leaves at least 44 mins for you to call back.....

Nice! I usually don't notice they called me until about 3 or 4 days after. So no excuses. Just oops.

If it's that important they should be able to leave a text call back number/code.

People will almost always at least check those, and if they know that code 99**88 (or whatever) means emergency call in, they'll respond.

People will forget what you said... and people will forget what you did... but people will never forget how you made them feel.

We always receive SECFOR text messages if something is going on off post. Something like stay clear of the US Embassy...Hezbollah supporters rallying there or over there etc. etc. etc.

My boss should be showing up anytime now since we start work @ 0600. I canceled the call divert on my phone at 0400 when I woke up. My cell hasn't rang once since turning it on.

Okay my boss wasn't impressed with the call divert but he does have a sense of humor so all is good. Guess he got the point.

Oh, and our company SOP does state that all drills in regards to recalls and SECFOR alerts are to be sent in text format. Did I show him this? No lol
