    Need Help with my DSL Optimization

    i have DSL 512/128 from my provider
    but i have low speed downloading
    i use linksys WAG300N
    with XP pro latest update and built-in network card Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet in my MSI 955X platinum motherboard

    and this is the test

    Do a tracert to www.yahoo.com and post.

    To do a tracert, click 'Start' and then 'Run'. Type "cmd" into the box and click 'ok'.

    A DOS black screen will appear. Type after the C:\>

    tracert www.yahoo.com

    and press enter key

    When test is completed, move mouse cusor to the DOS black screen, click right and choose 'select all'.

    Move mouse cursor to the Quick Reply box of this forum, click right and 'paste'.

    Could someone help me with it..
    Your Linksys model is for ADSL2+ and the nitro test reported that your data packet size is 1452. Thus your correct MTU should be 1492 and not 1500 as set in the TCP Analyzer report.

    Try the following with TCP Opimtizer:

    General Settings tab:
    Custom settings - check
    Modify All Network Adapters - check
    network adapter selection - your NIC
    MTU - 1492
    TTL - 64
    TCP Receive Window - 31944
    MTU Discovery - Yes
    Black Hole Detect - No
    Selective Acks - Yes

    Only SG TCP Optimizer
    and i used it now

    my system dont have any software since i just format it yesterday
    only Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 and Download Accelerator Plus (DAP)

    so what should i do?
    or what is my problem ?

    Okay. Apparently, TCP Analyzer is not picking up your MTU and RWIN correctly.

    Make sure your Linksys is placed a few feet away from other electrical devices such as speakers, sub-woofer, cordless phone, etc.

    Which country are you in? Does your ISP have any speedtest site?

    my Linksys is about 2 meter from any electrical devices
    and i'm in Saudi arabia
    and my ISP don't have any speedtest site and no ISP in SA have as i know

    plus the TCP Optimizer show the setting u give me

    Yes, the TCP Optimizer has adjusted your settings correctly. It is the TCP Analyzer that is not picking up the correct values. That is why I asked to see the report from the nitro test concerning your RWIN and MSS values. They confirm that the TCP Optimizer has done its job.

    Your RWIN of 31944 has allowed a max latency of 500ms.while the nitro test showed a value of 650ms. I am trying to see if 500ms is good enough for you.

    i just close the phone with my provider
    it told me that i payed for 512/64
    and i should have at least 55 KB/s ?

    You should be getting 55 KB/s within your country and when internet traffic is low (probably 3-6am). ADSL is a shared network and when traffic is heavy, speed for everybody will fall.

    And when you link to overseas, speed may fall further if the cable link out of your country is too small to handle traffic from too many users. That is why test speed overseas usually gives you a low value.

    Try the following with TCP Opimtizer:

    As you have noticed, using too high a RWIN value can slow your speed.

    Try the following with TCP Opimtizer:

    General Settings tab:
    Custom settings - check
    Modify All Network Adapters - check
    network adapter selection - your NIC
    MTU - 1492
    TTL - 64
    TCP Receive Window - 40656
    MTU Discovery - Yes
    Black Hole Detect - No
    Selective Acks - Yes
    Max Duplicate ACKs - 2
    TCP 1323 Options:
    Windows Scaling - uncheck
    Timestamps - uncheck

    Advanced Settings tab:
    Max Connections per Server - 10
    Max Connections per 1.0 Server - 20
    LocalPriority - 5
    Host Priority - 6
    DNSPriority - 7
    NetbtPriority - 8
    Lan Browsing speedup - optimized
    QoS: NonBestEffortLimit - 0
    ToS: DisableUserTOSSetting - 0
    ToS: DefaultTOSValue - 136
    MaxNegativeCacheTtl - 0
    NetFailureCacheTime - 0
    NegativeSOACache Time - 0

    Then select "Apply Changes" and reboot to take effect

    Yes I think you are optimized.

    RWIN = 40656 gives you a max latency of 635ms, close to your nitro test round trip time of 650ms.
