Seems accurate, lists my system at just under 500w

Jump on teh SeaSonic band wagon like stonecat, suppose to be some good PSUs.

I dont think its how much you need, its what ya use, so you want some head room.

I'd come across that a while ago.....I'd say it's somewhat accurate...designed with "average" consumption in there as far as components. Naturally there are anomalies out there....which would null it from being 100% accurate..but good for a baseline.
