Built on the Dodge Caliber's front-wheel drive platform with a fully independent suspension and an optional on-demand four-wheel drive system with locking centre diff, the new Jeep Compass is more car-like than other Jeeps, reports Paul Williams. However, when Williams and his co-driver got lost on a steep, treacherous mountain trail, the Compass performed surprisingly well, he says.

Morning Minir!

Not too bad lookin' in these pics. One of the models has bolt on extra wide fender flares..looks horrible. The standard body looks pretty decent in these pics though, I have to admit. Even the rear quarter views and tailgate look nice.

It should do quite well at that price point.

As you say YeOldeStonecat, it should do well as it seems to be very competitively priced and has the Jeep name to promote it for durability.

Not a bad looking machine at all, i agree.
