Count me in.. and I'm willing to relocate to the St. Pete / Tampa area if there is work lined up.

Noevo, if you are looking for housing in the Orlando area there are really only two areas in which to search for good prices. My wife and I have been house hunting a lot lately because we can't afford our house and lifestyle anymore since we both have car payments these days, plus a baby on the way and gas prices a bit too high to afford.

Deltona in the north and Kissimmee to the south. Those are your options if you want to buy low and be able to sell high later. Anywhere in the immediate Orlando area, a decent house in a decent neighborhood is going to start around $270K or so. In Deltona or Kissimmee you could get the same house for about $190K/220K. The only problem is I-4. Deltona is probably better traffic wise because Kissimmee requires you to drive through the tourism corridor daily if you work in the city. My boss got a great deal on a house down in Poinciana which is south of Kissimmee, but he has an 1.5 hr drive to work everyday thanks to the Disney I-4 area. The guys that I know that live in Deltona, have about a 30 minute drive to work and I work in the heart of downtown Orlando.

EDIT: or you could buy my house for $270K in east Orlando.. 3 bed/ 2 bath, built in '02, 1300 sq ft. not counting two car garage, lots of interior upgrades, small stocked lake in the backyard, 20 minutes from I-95, 30 minutes from Cocoa Beach, 20 minutes to downtown Orlando, 40 minutes from attractions. I'll hate having to sell it, but I just ain't making enough money these days to keep up with everything..

Yeah, originally from Detroit area. But I have lived out of state before so it's not that strange to me. Plus I have some relatives in fla.

My girlfriends start date is July 17th, so she's going to be getting an apartment before hand so at least I won't be doing all the leg work. Just doing a lot of looking on rent and apts .com She's working nearish to Disney so if anyone has good places to look at or places to definetly stay away from feel free to let me know.

...not to mention updating my resume and getting things set for applying down there.

No way.. I'm lucky to be 27 yrs old and owe less than $130K on a house in Orlando.. I don't see how new families/home buyers make it here buying new homes at the current market price... Thats sorta the reason my wife and I feel stuck here, barely keeping head above water.

We'd have to trade jobs/clients & incomes in order for me to even consider.

I have a better idea.. You come down to visit, either here or Tampa. My partner and I along with whomever else has something to contribute to the master plan, we all sit down and have a casual exchange of ideas and see where the mix of skillsets, connections, and long term goals could take us. Ken, Philip, Roody, Noevo, anyone that wants in on deal.. We talk it over and if it doesn't look like it could work, then hell, we'll have a good time at the meet anyways, and if it does, then there ya have it... progress.

Yeah...I'll head down there soon..was hoping for end of July, to mid August. But I have 30 days to cough up the 115K I owe the Ex, according to the lawyers 'n judge. Sort of post-phoned my spending cash for a bit.

I'll still try to squeeze in early fall.

I am always willing to sit down and talk although I will be the first to say I have a very good situation here at work. That said, it doesn't hurt to talk.
