    You will need either a 8 position switch, or 2 switches that together will handle 8 computers. Hook all the pc's to the switch(s) and use a another cable to hook to your router. Some routers will let you use them as switches by turning the router portion off.

    You'll want to use just 1x can uplink several switches...or one big switch.

    To keep things simple..just use 1x won't want to use more than one without going through quite a few more special configurations.
