    ISP Cable Modem

Hello, I have a general cable modem question. I am currently using Roadrunner. I am using the cable modem my ISP gave me which works ok but not great. I am thinking about buying a latest modem cable modem from Best Buy. Would it work if I just plug it in my cable outlet? What I mean is does ISP just send signals to modems to their own modems or any modem as long as you have the service?

    Best regards,

What do u have now, odds are the modem is not the cause of the problem.
