    Cadillac BLS: One Too Many "L's" imho; + Ford Iosis ...Wow!!!

    Hi to All
    ~~~~~~~
    Opinions on the success or lack there of, Please.
    ~~~~~~~~~~

    Cadillac, making a major commitment to become a global luxury brand, plans to introduce a small sedan in spring 2006 that will be sold exclusively across Europe.

    The BLS is a Europe-only Cadillac that is based on the Saab 9-3 and will be built alongside Saabs in Sweden. Base BLSs will get the 210-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder from the 9-3; the new turbocharged 2.8-liter V-6 with 250 horsepower will be optional as will be a 1.9-liter turbodiesel. Many of the interior fittings and some of the exterior is shared with the 9-3. It remains to be seen how the angular and Saab-based Cadillac will sell in Europe.

    Ford Iosis
    ~~~~~~~~
    Itís been hours since I first saw the Ford Iosis concept and itís already at the top of my Must See list for Frankfurt. I went digging through Fordís media website and found some high-quality pics as well as the press release, which explains that the Iosis represents a new design direction for the next generation of Fordís European road cars.
    Just for Europe, eh? Not that I think the Fusion is ugly or that the Five-Hundred doesnít have merit, but come onÖ this is a design for a halo sedan that Ford could field against the Chrysler 300 and do well with. Itís not derivative, itís not retro, and itís not bland. If anything, itís the best execution of the ďfour-door coupeĒ concept to date, which has only been offered by luxury marques so far.
    Hi YARDofSTUF & Dan
    YARDofSTUF
    You own it, use it Eh YARDofSTUF. There is a tremendous vessel of designs knowledge at Fords disposal and if used properly can make them The Manufacturer of Cars imho.
    When i saw the first pic of the Iosis i fell in lust immediately.
    The Cadillac leaves me totally cold on styling, but the Iosis
    grabs my attention right away.
    A little Miata in the Iosis i think. The front side vents scream Miata to me as does the front profile to a lesser extent, but very well done imho.
    The World of Cars is changing rapidly it seems.
    Thanks Guys
