    Video of Deceased on Tombstone

It's deadly dull TV Video of deceased on tombstone

    ---------

MIAMI -- Video screens have shown up all over in recent years -- cellphones, bathrooms, car head rests. Next up: A solar-powered video panel embedded in a tombstone that plays a clip reminiscent of This Is Your Life.

Tasteless, you might say? A magnet for vandals?

On the contrary, says inventor Sergio Aguirre, 32.

His soothingly named Serenity Panel is all about helping families celebrate the life of a lost loved one.

"While nothing ever replaces the gift of life, memories can now come one step closer to forever being remembered and not forgotten," waxes the Vidstone LLC website.

The device, fuelled by solar power, plays a 5- to 7-minute video featuring special moments from someone's life. It includes two standard headphone jacks to listen to audio.

The Serenity Panel should be ready for sale in October and cost about $1,500 US.

    Interesting idea.

I'm one of those people who enjoys walking through graveyards. Should this catch on it will make it a different experience, "seeing" the person.

    Hi Spammy & ghost

It has some merit to be sure. We had my Dads Picture put on his Tombstone and it gave relief to my Mom in particular and brought memories flooding back to many who have visited. Makes it more personal i believe.

This too would be enhanced by a Video I'm sure. The part that concerns me is Vandalism and how it would work in some climates that are very hot or extremely cold? Also will the content have an X Rating

There may well be some people leaving some sites never to return, if history is any lesson at all

    No doubt it will sell.

    Hi Ghosthunter

I used to do the same at one Cemetery in Town. It was a beautiful location and believe it or not we used to Toboggan and Ski on a big hill their. I had fun reading some tombstones and it was a lesson in Local History as well. Finally i came across one Tombstone and till this day whenever someone mentions Cemetery, i think of it.

Emblazoned on one Stone by a Husband to his Dearly Departed Wife, were the Words.

    "Lord She is Thine"

Unfortunately the stone mason forgot the "E" in "Thine" and it remains that way till this day.
