Red face Old problem fixed! new problem arise!

well, last week i think it was, after my cable was down for 1 day, i got a new gateway =DDD and that totaly fixed all my disconnecting problems, YES!

but now i have a new problem. It seems when i'm playing Counter-strike, i'll be running around doing my thing, then randomly my internet would just stall for about 3 secs. Now i think its not PL from the server, b/c this happends on EVERY server i play on, and the net graph shows no packet loss when i get unfrozen. This never happend with my old gateway so i have no clue what to do.

if u guyz need more info (tracrt's pings etc) just ask and i'll post

Please post some tracerts and pings to some of the servers that are giving you troubles.

here is a tracert to one of my fav servers to play on...I don't know what this will tell you b/c its not really a timeout issue. If i'm playing a Game of counter-strike, randomly my game will just freeze (like lag) but for 3-5 secs each time around 1 every 5 mins. I know its not my setup, b/c this only began when i got a new gateway server. And i know its not packetloss, b/c in cs it doesn't really effect the game like that.

    Question

Does it seem like it's computer lag?? like when the hole computer just freezes and you can't do anything for a couple seconds or do you know for sure its, "internet lag?"

You might want to try power cycleing your modem also...

well, i know its not computer lag b/c i can still look around ( ie turn my mouse and the view in CS changes) so its more like internet lag but this has never happend with my old gateway only with this new one. And i doubt thats its a virus b/c i just installed win98se on friday.

Could that be the reason y, I installed win98sec after i got the new gateway but i used the same settings as b4.

    Cool

I don't know what to tell you. Double check your settings and make sure everything is set okay... Maybe someone else here knows more.
