Question Power Defragmenter; Anyone Tried This? It's Very, Very, Fast

    Hi to All

Found this the other day and gave it a go..Wow! is it Quick or what. Freebie and seems to do the job.

Power Defragmenter is based on Sysinternals defragmentation "engine".

It Defrags Files, Folders and Disks. Use the "Power Mode Disk Defragmentation Button" and stand back

Gonna test it now, I'll edit post when I'm done.

    [EDIT]
Wow, that was fast.. didn't take up much system memory either.

I can tell a difference already.. then again I havn't defragged in about 3 months.

    *twiddles thumbs innocently*

    Regards,

    Hi BrettRS

Nice to meet You & Welcome to SG

Yep! very fast indeed. I did Folders and then The Super Duper Defrag and it was all over in minutes. I too noticed a pickup in performance as well.

We'll have to see who else gives it a go and their experiences with it.

Thanks BrettRS & have a dilly of a day

I've been using Diskeeper for months, but I'm interested to see how this measures up to it - thanks Minir!

I'm always wary of third-party defragmenters, just like registry cleaners and "system tools."

I'm interested in opinions in this thread though. <watches>

Well you know what a GUI is. It uses windows NT based defragger already in your OS, jsut not the windows GUI, it has a few preset defragging methods adn u pick one and it activates the windows defragger from the command line, and you watch it defrag from there.

How can you tell that it's using the MS defrag engine from just that?
