Neither are at a bad place quaility wise, but it is interesting on hwo the advertising changes things. I have no problem with toyota, other than that they dont make a car tailored for me.

Yea, I tend to agree that Toyota charges alittle more than they should, but on the other hand certain GM products you can say the samething about (Cobalt SS, Impala SS, etc. at least 2k overpriced).

    Hi YARDofSTUF

Interesting Article. How true the numbers are??? I don't know.

The simple fact is that Toyota have a better PR Company handling their Advertising than does GM. They know what points to stress to build Consumer Confidence and they present them in innovative ways.

Toyota's quality is excellent from all i've heard from prior and present owners. Never heard a bad word. The same cannot be said about GM, i assure you. I remember getting into my Dads brand new Cadillac, he wanted me to take it for a spin with him. When i closed the drivers door the Pull came right out of the door. Not a good thing.

There is an old saying " A customer will remain so, til you give him a reason not to be"

GM had some real dogs over the past many years and did not go out of their way to satisfy their Customers imho. People started shopping around. One only need to look at the Cadillac, Continental competition to see what was taking place. Cadillac were standing still and Continental was picking their customers off by the gross.

I particularly do not buy the War message at the end. Pretty tacky imho.

There is choice out there and people are being offered a bewildering array of vehicles to fill their needs. They will buy what they feel suits them.

Though this is now changing, for a long time people where willing to pay List for Japanese Cars while Domestics where offering deep Discounts to consumers. That to me says a lot as to what people felt were their best value.
