Making the text part of desktop shortcuts transparent (pic included)

Hey, I was wondering how to make the background part of the text of a shortcut transparent.

I want to make the white transparent so it blends into the background, anyone know how?

Remember, when you make one change, it can and will affect other things. You just changed a whole wack of settings with one tweak.
I knew when I saw that you did YOSC's tweak a few minutes ago that you would be back wondering about the transparent icons....

Same local, RT click My Computer icon, select properties>advanced>performance. Scroll down to, and check off "use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop"
Your desktop icons will again be transparent after you apply it.

I and others here cannot stress enough the importance of backing up the registry when making changes, especially changes you have not fully educated yourself on.
