I'm a talent scout for a moderate sized porn firm. I work as hard and long as I can

I used to work hard until Citigroup sucked the life outta me ...don't get me wrong I work hard at my current job but I doubt I would do anything 'extra' for the sake of the company unless there is an added benefit(cash) for me.

I put hard worker, but I could easily be "very" hard worker. I just don't want to go 110% all the time and get burnt out. I've done it before.

That, and out of all 5 or so sales people with our company, I bring in about 40% of our business.

I often wonder if the voices in my head ever get frustrated because I'm just too damn lazy to climb that clock tower.

Work ethics are under my review right now.
Ya bust it and get chit on, is what I'm finding so far.
Slackers seem to be winning and me loosing.
Starting a new job on Monday, will see how it goes. Will start out my normal self, but if the slackers a winning this game, I'll have to consider changing up work ethic for slacker ethic.

I am a very hard worker in all of my various positions...but I do that mostly for my own satisfaction...I believe anything that I encounter deserves nothing less than my best effort and I do give it my best shot always...some are more successful than others of course..depending on what the situation is.

I hear what you are saying Chris...but fellow workers I pay no attention to..unless it is something that requires a team effort...for their work habits in fact are none of my business...and if they can live with just sliding by...and passing the buck on to someone else...then I believe that is usually how they run their own personal lives as well...and generally stay clear.

What I have found so far though is there are Runners, and Do'rs.
Runners run around all day and accomplish nothing, Do'rs work a steady pace and complete much.
I'm a do'er. Most bosses, I've found, are impressed greatly by runners.
My job that I am no longer am at, as of a week ago now has a shop full of runners, I would, could and did complete more then them 3 guys put together.
But once again I got the shaft. New job, if the owner was fully truthfull during the interview, will be a job where I'm woking with Do'ers....[crossing fingers]

    Hard worker

I am like chris I am a do'er, methodical and systematic> I have worked with guys who carry heavy loads upstairs all day at 200$ a day per man x 3 men YOU MIGHT AS WELL PAY THE CRANE OR GET A LIFT!!. and the next everybody wont be burnt out from packing all that crap. Ahhh yeah but they still do it.

I seen guys who are runners and they scramble and make mistakes and its awkward as hell...

    ex:

Young bull says to old bull "what say we run down that hill and fvck one of them cows?"

Old bull says to young bull " what say we walk down that hill and **** all the cows!"

    work smart.

I was going to post a link to that thread, but the SG search results for "bullsh|t" were too numerous

I don't have a lot of respect for my workplace after they accused me of stealing.

I do what I have to do, sometimes more.

I work in roofing so the harder I work the more I get paid. I love working like an animal. Then I come home and get chit faced and repeat the next day. Life is good.

My first position in the government I worked my ass off, after 2 years, I started making misstakes cause I was burning out. This was the same time they where trying to make me perminant. My then boss decided to hire somebody else that wasn't even technicaly qualified, that worked for my father(he works in the same department), and wanted me to trane him. I traned him but only for two hours on my last day. At the same time all this was happening, my family was cleaning out my late grandmothers house to sell (dad is an only child so it was up to us). My boss even had the nerve aft stabing me in th back to promiss me a perminant position after he would get rid of two employee's

I left that poistion and found another one for 8 months, didn't like it but it was better then what I had.

Now I am in a new one as a LAN admin and I enjoy it much more then the last ones.

As a result of all that stress my health has not been the greatest but I am in a much better working environment and things are slowly improving.

Whats ironic/sad about all this is that the boss that screwed me over is now my dads boss.

Looking back, I am glad I got out of there. I am still under contract though....sigh

What I am trying to say is that work isn't everything. Don't burn yourself out, and take time to enjoy the fruits of your labour!

Anything I do, I do to cause myself less problems and not the company.

I'm less motivated each passing day however. :-/

I could have taken the rest of this week off and it would not have affected my Income because of unemployment benefits, But hell I Like to work will be back at it tomorrow
