Unhappy Slow page loading. Loads of info! Help.

Hello. I'm not sure if this is the right place to be asking this but here it is anyway. I am having a problem with web pages loading slowly. It doesn’t seem to be related to time of day or internet traffic because it seems to happen all day and evening.
It doesn’t happen on all web pages all the time either.
For example I might try to go to TestMy.net now and it will load instantly then I might try to go back 5 minuets from now and it will take 2 minuets to load the page. Then I will go back another five minuets later and it will only take a second or two to load the page. This problem started only about 3 days ago. Before that all web pages loaded almost instantly.

I have ran several ping tests, DxDiag, SG TCP/IP Analyzer, PCPitStop system test, Norton Anti Virus, Norton System security Scanner, SG Security Scanner, Spybot-Search&Destroy, Ad-Aware SE, McAfee Anti Spyware, and all the results came back ok as best as I can interpret them. I included all of the info from the ping tests, DxDiag, SG TCP/IP Analyzer, SG Security Scanner below.

    Any ideas?

I tried to collect all the info that might be useful about my system.
Most of it is probably unnecessary information, but I included it anyway just in case there is a well known conflict between some of the components of my system.

Notes: Read the Analyzer FAQ if the above is not your IP address.

    TCP options string = 020405b401010402
    MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
    MSS = 1460

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 65535
    RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
    Unscaled Receive Window = 65535

Note: Under Windows 9x, if you have RWIN set to any other value, and the Analyzer reports 65535 you
might need to install the MS Vtcp386 fix.
For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
    513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
    256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
    128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
    64240 (MSS x 44)

well one thing's for sure, you post more info than anyone could ever want! much better then just saying "my internet seems slow, what can i do?"

this probably wont help, and i don't see anything unusual...speed tests and pings are all good. might be some software just taking up resources or CPU cycles or something.

hopefully someone else can help more

I thought cisco was the only one that makes me reae alot usless infromation this guy wins the prize

try thease your rwin is not a mutiple of mss if it still slow try entering your dns statically from the isp or find an alternate dns server

Try thease in the sg optmizer below me to download and install
    select - cable
    check - custom settings
    network adapter selection -
    check modify all adapters
    maxmtu -1500
    TTL - 64
    TCP Receive Window6 4240
    MTU Discovery - yes
    Black Hole Detect - no
    Selective Acks - yes
    Max Dup ACKs - 2
TCP 1323 windows nothing is checked
    Other Settings tab:
Max Connections per Server - 10
    Max Connections per 1.0 Server - 20
    Lan Browsing Speedup - optimized
Then select "Apply Changes" and reboot to take effect.

    1. Under your LAN connection - properties - general tab, uninstall all the protocols there that you do not need.

    2. Open IE and select tools - internet options - connections -
LAN settings, make sure NOTHING there is checked.

    3. ALWAYS connect your modem via ethernet (NIC) and make sure you have the latest drivers for your NIC from the manufacturer. Set your NIC duplex mode to 10mb half duplex for Cable, for DSL it is ISP dependent unless you are using a router, if so then set it to 100mb full duplex for both Cable & DSL (the instructions are in my Help & Tips link). If you are using a router make sure you have the latest firmware.

    4. Clear your temporary internet files.

    5. Power cycle your modem, unplug it for atleast 15 seconds.

    6. Download and update then do a scan with SpyBot 1.2 http://beam.to/spybotsd & Ad Aware 6.0 http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download to remove any spyware then install and update SpywareBlaster to stay spyware FREE. YOU MUST USE BOTH AD AWARE & SPYBOT TO ENSURE YOU ARE SPYWARE FREE SINCE ONE FINDS WHAT THE OTHER MISSES.

    7. Make sure you do the faster web page tweak in Read1st link.

    8. If you have Zone Alarm as a firewall uninstall it then visit Zonelabs.com for further instructions on removing it's left over junk.

    9. Install Outpost Firewall http://www.agnitum.com\ or Sygate Firewall http://www.sygate.com/ , both have FREE and Pro versions and are heads above ZA.

    10. Scan for viruses with your antivirus app, if you do not have one get one IMMEDIATELY, AVG 6.0 http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php is an excellent FREE AV app.

    11. Make sure you have ALL of the latest Windows Updates

    Slow Internet connection

You seem to have 2 anti-virus systems. Not that they are necessarily the problem, but they may work against each other. If you ever try to uninstall Mcafee, you may end up not able to connect to the Internet. There is a solution to the Mcafee uninstall problem, info on the Internet, so be sure you have printed out the solution before uninstalling Mcafee if you ever want to.
For my art, i gave up Norton years ago. I use a freeware, Avast!, and have been happy with it for over 3 years now, using XP Home.
I had a problem with my internet connection, and the phone company technician eventually came along and transferred my external phone connection to another exchange. Now works much better, though intermittently I get no connection. I then unclip the connection to the external modem, and Heigh Presto! it works again.
For Mcafee uninstall problems, Go to :
Download and run the MCPR tool from: (http://download.mcafee.com/products/...ches/MCPR.exe).
on this. Just in case, it's worth having the hardcopy around.
    Good luck

MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
