Question Dan car stereo or in dash dvd player Q&A

So I got the fm modulator and it worked great but... the fricken radio died about 4 days later.. just my luck ..

anyway I was thinking that maybe one of thease in dash dvd units would be cool bcz then i could load up a dvd with mp3's and the later down the road i could hook up a lil lcd for camping in my van down by the river.

    you suggestions appreciated

I suppose those are ok,maybe the Blaupunkts are ok,if thats the price range you're looking at.

if you want a good performing tuner/mp3 player, something like This would do you better,IMO.

if you really want the best thing, and don't mind spending a little $$,then this unit is the sweet setup. you can get these new for about $800.

    or this DVH-P7000

remember you get what you pay for in car stuff.

and btw, what is wrong with your radio?what do you mean it died?

are you sure it's not the modulator? or antenna connections?

wow those are cheap...I thought DVD players for the car were still several hundered bucks..

do those work like a regular CD player? or do you need a monitor to work it? hell i might buy one for that price if that's all I need.

    *awaits suggestions as well*

from what i see they seem to be the answer playing mp3's on a 4.7 gb dvd would be mucho playtime comparedto a cd player (700mb) that plays mp3s.

and if you are waiting or camping you can watch movies.
this one looks cool for 119$!

I think I will research them more and see what is the best solution I really can only afford 250- 300$

ok,and remember a LCD will cost atleast $200 and up ,you are going to install an overhead? or headrest monitors? or whats the plan for that?

and I know that the cheap monitors are not worth buying,so just be careful.
Like I said,in the car stereo world, you really get what you pay for.

and I still have to say,it sure seems like too much of a coincidence for the radio to fail within 4 days of you installing the modulator,I would look at the connections and fuses and antenna....etc,etc,
