    What would be the benefit of....

    .... a dual 1Ghz machine over a single 2Ghz machine???

    Just curious really!

    I'd be surprised if any application including those which support multi-procs, performed any better on the duallie. That difference in speed, IMO, is simply too much. Add to the difference in speed, you're talking about a different family of processors also..as both Intel and AMD shifted to totally different CPUs across those speeds. If you questioned a duallie 1.0 versus a single 1.5....then I'd give the nod to the duallie with apps that supported it.
