    Which Video Card set-up?

Which card setup should I use? I am going to use a PCI-E board. And I was going to use the FX 6800 GT, but then I noticed I could use 2 cards on that board. So the question is:

Which will be better for Gaming???

    (1) FX6800 GT

    or

    (2) GeForce 6600 256 MBs

Ya I know the best would be (2) 6800 GTs, but that would be $900.

    Thanks for the help,

    Ric

    Hi Ric...

FiringSquad recently did a writeup on Gigabytes 6600 GT SLI setup...it's an SLI setup on a single card...but performance wise, equiv of two separate cards. It can help answer your performance difference questions...as they compared it against a 6800 card.

Thanks for the review. It looks like to one 6800GT blew away 2 6600s. Wow...

Yeah...the dual 6600s seemed to close the gap about halfway, to the 6800u.

btw the 6800GT can easily be overclocked to 6800Ultra speeds

cause all it is is a downclocked 6800U

Not a problem unless he's picky about what brand.

yeah i say the 6800gt...you can always add a 2nd one down the road when the extra power is needed and the disposable income is available.
