How can I improve my signal

router is upstairs with my main computers, wireless comp is downstairs on the other side of the house.

linksys sells these antennas that look bigger, would that help me?

If it's antennas like this, then they'll help quite a bit. I've added them to routers, and after that I could get through three walls and quite a bit into the back yard. I was really suprised how much range they added. I've even went three floors down with the larger antennas.

Just make sure you secure your wireless, the extra range will let people jump on easily if they chance upon it.

Something I ran across once, that made it impossible to do was a mirror. The people had one whole wall covered with a large mirror. Even trying with two waps (with the high gain antennas) and making a bridge. I couldn't get the signal to the room behind the mirror. I guess the radio waves were bouncing off the mirror, just like light does. Other then that I haven't had many other problems with cordless phones, thick walls or other minor electrical interference.
