    Crash !!!!

Sad day here, my games drive crashed. All started when I was trying to create an access to HL2's console mode. Next thing I know system locked up and upon reboot received an error message pertaining to drive D. Just got back from buying a new drive. I Guess I'll spend the rest of the day doing a fresh install on the new drive and then reformating the current C drive to replace my games drive. Hate the thought of all those lost, saved games, lol.

russell, does the drive spin up or work at all? If it does I might be able to get some of your data back.

Windows isn't seeing the drive at all. When the system reboots it hangs at the Asus splash screen for longer than normal then it acts if it's going to boot normally, however an error message ( and I forgot to write it down) pops up pertaining to S.M.A.R.T. failing to run.

Also if I unplug the drive and try to boot with just the master, I get a message asking for the correct boot drive or boot media to be used

Well, back up and running. Have to admit, there is nothing like a nice fresh install of windows to cleanse the soul. Now the long tedious task of installing apps and software.

I remember getting a SMART error on one of my drives.
But it had an option to press F12 i think it was and boot the drive up. That drive lasted for about a year doing that.

There is software to get all (most) of your data back:

    GetDataBack for NTFS

It saved 5 years worth of photos of my wife and mine. Man, that was the best $80 I ever spent.

    Good luck.
