    Hey Philip and Ken

I've been off line for a bit due to me actually being busy.
I return to SG and see Philip and company have made some nice changes.
First thing that stands out is the layout of the boards. This says the site is reaffirming it's roots. I also like the changes in the GUI.

I'd like to see a board for guides and articles in one convenient location. There's allot of knowledge here, but you kinda have to dig for it. Giving it a dedicated spot would make it more accessible. An example would be links to the guides, FAQS, ect. from the main menu. Guides and currently stuck threads assembled in one place via links to prevent juggling and the impending fragmentation. Not to mention the confusion which resulted when Steeles sticky was moved to a compiled location. Wow I hope I'm making sense. Here's a rough diagram of what I mean:

    Guides & FAQS: <witty description thereof.>

*Well you get the gist of what I mean. Putting the info buffet style with descriptive thread titles via links. This maintains the current layout yet "unhides" some of the sites features.

I would actually be willing to help out in putting this together, as far as the threads and links. I know it won't be easy but I know it would help allot.
    So what do you think?

We opted for something similar for each forum... There are sticky threads with relevant links (to other threads and FAQs, related pages on the main site, etc.) in most forums.

Granted, they can use updating, but I thought a sticky in the particular forum is more relevant than a separate forum where we lump all of them...

I definitely appreciate the suggestion, and we can definitely use some help putting help/link threads together... The one thing I'm not completely convinced on is a separate forum for them, as opposed to sticky threads in the relevant forums.
Linux is user friendly, it's just picky about its friends...

I can see the logic in the current layout. I thought that a designated place would allow for the information to be spread out and not blend in with the corresponding board.

I'll work on the help/link threads in an editor and PM them to you. Than you can post and stick them as needed. If at a latter date you decide to put them in a separate forum it'll be a little easier. Besides it would give you the opportunity to see what it would look like on the side and determine the feasibility as well.

No doubt updating would be a chore. Luckily most of the information you put together is still very relevant and informative. That's a whole other project though.
Like I said I'll help out where I can.
