    I Need Car Audio Help!

Ok, I got new 6x9 speakers and got em hooked up and they were working but, like a ******* I was trying to hook them up to my 300 watt amp with the car running and now all four speakers in the car do not work at all. I didnt hear any particular noise but, none of them work. The stereo itself is getting power and is working but there is no sound. all I hear when I turn the radio on is a little click/pop sound. Did I blow out my stereo? And yes, I was smart enough to check all the fuses.

amp was hooked up with RCA right if so the car being on doesn't mean ****
if you was going off the speaker wires hooking up the amp you may hooker it up wrong and blew you radio out puts
    first un hook the amp
if still no sound reinstall the original speakers
still no sound you messed up the out puts

i am thinking you messed up the out puts because the frount speakers dont work allso

Amp was hooked up and fully powered. I had the amp hooked up to the right speaker then I tried to attatch the car's speaker wire as well and thats when it went. I took the head unit to a car audio place and he snipped some wires and tried to attatch a speaker and there was no sound. So I think I screwed it up.

Keep the key off and the fuse out of the amp section till hooked up.

Mike you probably just blew a fuse on the amp. Did you check it?

I got the new stereo installed ok. ONly took 3.5 hours but, hey! It was my first time installing a stereo. The hardest part was figuring out the wires. But, I took the time to label every single wire on the stereo as well as the dash. ONly saw sparks one time That was only cause I forgot to tape the ends of the battery cables though LOL

Downhill, when I blew out the first stereo, I did check all the fuses on the car as well as the amp and stereo and they were good. I took the stereo to a audio shop and the guy pretty much said I blew out the amp inside the stereo. Expensive mistake but, at least I know to keep the key off! Oh, and I only hooked the amp up the way it was before. I didn't know how to hook it into the entire car's audio system.
