    ok it was named differently, got it!!!


    also firefox is on there and works, but i'd still like to fix IE.

    Good idea - since you're already running M$'s worst OS evar you should load up the least secure app evar

    I feel safer with some viruii on my machine than IE
    anything is possible - nothing is free

    how is firefox a virus?

    WinXP CDs dont grow on trees. She has an office cd and a win98 cd, problem is they're in poland LOL

    Yes there is.... You have to type it from the run line.

    there seem to be alot of errors that cause the 0x1f blue screen.

    can you register it in safemode ??


    edit: also could be that is the wrong security.dll file I guess. She seriously is really close to biting the bullet and having to fromat/reinstall. Somethings just can't be fixed and even if somehow we find a way to register that file she will have more problems.

    cant register it in safe mode either. So its an IE issue, what could it be that IE doesnt reinstall during the IE installation?


    she basically just shops online and pays her bills on it.

    good question about IE.

    Could try removing IE6, see what version/sp she is runnine with IE5. Could just make her use Firefox.

    Well its going back as a mistery, Firefox works, so it stays.
