Wanna give a shot and see what's wrong with our connection?

    BEFW11S4 Linksys 802.11b router.
4 PCs and 1 Laptop connected
    Some Ambit modem
    Comcast
    3mb down, 256kb up.

Basically everytime I use BitTorrent, no matter what client, tracker, connection count or upload speed, one of my roommate bitches. Is there something nasty with our connection that I should look at?

Later I'm going to try replacing his splitter with mine, in hopes mine is higher quality. (Most expensive Radio Shack had)

    Upstream Channel ID: 5
Upstream Transmit Power Level: 44.5 dBmV
    Upstream Symbol Rate: 2560 Ksym/sec
    Upstream Frequency: 23000000 Hz
    Upstream Mini-Slot Size : 4

    Downstream Lock : Locked
    Downstream Frequency : 633000000 Hz
    Downstream Modulation: QAM256
    Downstream Interleave Depth: 32
Downstream Receive Power Level: -5.3 dBmV
    Downstream SNR: 33.2 dB

    TCP options string = 020405b401010402
    MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
    MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which equals MSS.
Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 64240
    RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
    Unscaled Receive Window = 64240

RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
    513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
    256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
    128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
bandwidth * delay product (Note this is not a speed test):

    Your RcvWindow limits you to: 2569.6 kbps (321.2 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
    Your RcvWindow limits you to: 1027.84 kbps (128.48 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
    MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 116 hops

    TTL value is ok.
    Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
    Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 00000000

Basically the ping goes from 80 to 400 when I'm using bittorrent or something. Is there really an issue or is my roommate just a bandwidth nazi who hates a +100 ping and plays FPS games 12 hours a day instead of going to class or sleeping?

People will forget what you said... and people will forget what you did... but people will never forget how you made them feel.

Thanks. Oh well. He can just suffer between 3 am and noon when he should be at school or sleeping.
