After installing VONAGE on my system, i encountered BAAAAAD and SLOOOOOWWWW connections. I was stumped. I had at least three different techs out to look. I finally got a great repairman in to look at my system. He saw that somebody (an old cable guy from years before) had previously installed a AC powered signal booster directly into the INTERNET line, (which was originally cable only) He told me that the booster was boosting the signal so fast and hard that it burnt out my cable modem!!
He removed it from the circuit reran my cables to shorten them some and TADA!! I have a cable INTERNET that runs on average 2.88mbs Down and 248.16Kb/s
