    Traveling by Train

I know nothing of traveling by trains.

I looked up amtrak but I didn't see what I needed.

I would need to leave from Dallas, TX and arrive at Atlanta, GA or Chatanooga, TN, either destinations would work.

But I couldn't find a direct route with Amtrak from Dallas to Atlanta, only trips that went all over the place and took 3 days to get there, heh.

What are some other trains besides Amtrak and do any go in a direct route from Dallas to Atlanta for the dates I need?

    June 30th or 31st - July 5th.

Thanks for anyone who can help!

Amtrack is probably your only choice for rail travel....None of the major railways, run passenger service anymore.

Amtrack or bust Brent. If you end up in Chatanooga, see if Amtrak offers motor coach bus service between each city.

I've taken Amtrak on a few trips upto North Dakota for Ice fishing. Was great IMO! Especially in the winter and bad winter storms are rolling through Minnesota or ND.

Yeah I agree with you. There are lots of reasons for that but the biggest being that the airlines pretty much handle most of the passenger travel anymore.

Amtrack is financed by the Feds and as such, a lot of places you just can't get too by rail, anymore. The routes just cost too much to fund.

Amtrack is used mostly for commuters or those traveling between large cities.

If you just want to see the country, you could also consider the bus...Greyhound, ect ect...but if you do, take a germicide and a surgical mask.

It cost only $97 to fly from Baltimore to Atlanta. Give the airlines a call.
