Write articles - get SG Premium Membership !

At users' requests, we had implemented a tool for users to be able to post articles and user reviews to SpeedGuide.net a few months ago, and we'd like to see more people invoved and taking advantage of it. Publishing your work with us gives you the opportunity to voice your opinion, share your experiences with a large audience and provides great exposure; we serve about 3.5 Million pages monthly to nearly one Million unique users.
In light of SpeedGuide.net's 5th birthday (we got this domain on 05.05.1999 even though the information was available for about a year prior to that), and to spark some more interest and participation in this program, I'd like to introduce the following limited time incentives for it:

Any well written short user story, tips and information submited that we decide to publish will grant you one month of Premium membership to the site at no cost to you.

Any quality article or user review over ~1000 words that we publish will grant you 3 months of Premium membership to the site at no cost to you.

I hate to say it but I've been drooling over a SG membership since it came out but can't afford it.

I'd be interested in doing some reviews or articles. However, I don't have any ideas as of yet. Also the lack of money to buy things to review is quite a problem on its own.

Is it worth the effort of my documenting the finer points of Big Pond cable in Australia? It is the only ISP left in the world that still uses the 'heartbeat' system and you need special routers and login clients and whatnot.

They are, I rarely use this term, positively **** in their tech support too. Ring them up and unless you have the modem plugged into one stand alone computer with their inherently flawed client, they will not talk to you at all.

Indeed, I've rang up a number of times over the years to ask if there was a cable problem because I knew the problem wasn't my end and they weren't interested in talking to me until I pulled apart the home network and used their useless client... fools.

Anyhow, it's a bit of a niche market, but I've a wealth of knowledge and don't mind sharing if it's considered worthy. Different clients, different OS's (they only support windows), what type of routers are compatible etc. etc. ...
