    WRX in the shop already

Picked up the new car last week. The night we got it home, went to back out of the driveway and a disturbing "clickclickclickclickclickclickclick" came from the tranny. Took it to the shop and they're kinda baffled... nothing is worn inside, all the gears look good...
Maybe I'll ask for a short-throw shifter as long as it's all taken apart.
Hopefully it'll be ready for this weekend, gotta go to my newbie autocross class

    update

Thanks MM (for the rep points )... it's a lot of fun.

They finally found the problem with the WRX. Apparently the reverse gear was machined incorrectly. Gotta give it to my dealer and to Subaru... I was nicely suprised at how accomodating they were through the process (calming me down as smoke was pouring out me ears).

I've been autox'ing every weekend, haven't been around here much. The scoobaru was still in the shop when I took the class 3 weeks ago. So, I used my 4x4 S-10 pickup

The next 2 weekends were real races, the subaru was helping my newbie arse immensly. Finished 1st in D-stock in my first race, and 4th in a big event last weekend. Totally hooked. Now I'm looking for a used car that I can use exclusively for racing (like I can afford that, lol).

Ours is doing an unusually loud gear grinding in reverse gear too....been doing it quite a while, just no time to bring it into the shop.

Not a bit of trouble outta mine, and I'm pushing ~400hp at the crank nowadays. Granted I had it torn down at 10k miles by a guy that builds bonafide rally machines. I'm on my 3rd windshield tho, with an appointment tomorow to have it replaced again(lotsa rock quarries around here).

1st gear will grind if I'm sloppy goin from neutral at a redlight or something, thats just cuz the synchos lose a bit of momentum.
