    Everquest & DX9

Well they have finally converted it to a complete DX9 engine. This paves the way for some MAJOR graphics updates soon! By the time EQ2 releases we will be running the same graphics I bet.

Let's just hope they don't bring all there other well known DX9 bugs over from there other games...

By the look of the update packets I'm getting so far it looks like they went ahead and rebuilt the graphics... should be pretty awesome. I'm playing the SC: Pandora Tommarow demo while waiting for it to get back up. Can't wait.

This was just posted on the Tech Forums:

Due unforeseen problems, the servers are going to be down a little while longer.
Our tentative ETA is 3 P.M. PST.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

It's back up! You can see some light graphics refinements, primarily in the character models and shadowing/lighting effects. They said they are working on a new sky texture also. I think we are on our way to some major graphics updates though.
