    shim on amd cpu's

    its been about 2 years ago i built my Dad a comp, with a 1.4ghz T-bird, and i used a copper shim, i came across a unlocked 2500+ barton recently, not having experience with amd, is a shim still recommended?

    Not at all, generally I havent seen one used for a VERY long time.
