Going to Hong Kong -any suggestions?

    Another visa run, feb 24.

I noticed a lot of people here are asian-canadian. Anyone been there and know any fun stuff to do or good places to shop? I want to get some ultra-kooky asian stuff for my family back home. but my thai friends mostly only know the upscale shops

    I've been numerous times.

Can't tell you what's there... They do have lots and lots of shops. You can literally shop till you drop.

I think most of them are in "central" I think... or as they call it in chinese "Jung Wan". The subway is probably the best way to get around town since some of them acutally go all the way in the mall. So when you get out u're in the mall.

I do know they have some cool arcades but nothing compared to japan. Lots of pirated cds and such but I think most of them have been closed down now.

That's all I kind of know now... heh.

Hey Immortal, is there any sort of off, reviewed on Something Awful that definitely came from Hong Kong stuff I can pick up? Like nutty energy drinks with cut up pears in them or something? Espec. something I wouldn't know from Japan..

whats some cool stuff you pick up when you go because you can't get it elsewhere? I guess I'm looking for souvenir ideas

If you can find a "Treamcast" for me, I'd be quite thankful.

I'll try and ask a few of my friends. They're from hk. Actually one of them is actually going back on the 19th.

Anywho, I'll check to see if they know of any whacky places.

I have spent more time in Kowloon than Hong Kong, but both are fun. In Kowloon try Nathan Street for shopping,, not just the street, but the little alleyways off it.

Are you just going to Hong Kong or mainland too?

Thanks, I'll check that out now . I'll just be in Hong Kong, but coincidentally I have a job offer on the mainland about 2 or 3 hours away, so I could wind up going there if I like it.
