    can i use anchors with frames?

    same as topic... IE: like have a top frame with buttons that link to an anchor lower in the page?? I tried it but it just makes the topframe open in the widow.

    Did you try adding the target=_self attribute to the href?

    I think you can as long as you define the anchor in the page your are referring to then set your target in the upper frame as the subordinate page then the anchor.

    You have to remember when working between frames you are working between web pages as well.

    Give it a try and let us know...

    yes

    example:
    top frame = index_top.html
    bottom frame = index_bottom.html

    link in top frame linked to anchor named xyz

    link = <a href='index_bottom.html#xyz' target='name_of_frame_as_defined_in_frameset">click here</a>

    In your frameset page, probably index.html, you should have given names to each frame within the frameset:

    FRAMESET frameborder=1 rows="80%,20%">
    <FRAME src="index_top.html" NAME="Top_Frame" scrolling=YES>
    <FRAME src="index_bottom.html" NAME="Bottom_Frame" scrolling=YES>

    Thus the link =
    <a href='index_bottom.html#xyz' target='Bottom_Frame">click here</a>
    No one has any right to force data on you
    and command you to believe it or else.
    If it is not true for you, it isn't true.
