Would a 200 Watt PSU be ok with an AMD Athlon XP 2800?

Ok, my microatx case came with a 200 Watt PSU and I was wondering if this will be ok with an AMD XP 2800? I couldn't find any micro Antec 300+ Watt PSU's. Also in the case description, it says it's compatible with a P4/AMD XP/MP, so I'm assuming that it will be ok? It also says P4 on the PSU. Thanks.

it might work, but I would not recommend using it,IMO you will have random problems,

I would look at investing in a good PSU,it's really a very important part of your system.You don't need to spend an arm and a leg.
even one like this would serve you much better

I have 3 of the SL-400's running here,and IMO they are very good units.

That link for the Antec PSU is for a normal ATX, not micro. Are there any good ones for a microatx case?

ya,sorry,you're right,I did'nt see that,

looks like you may have a problem finding a good micro psu,

try the one you have and see what happens.

Like I said,maybe it will work ,
if you have a minimum of components in the system.

I can't believe there aren't any good micro PSU's. So the worse thing that can happen to my computer is for it to not work? Will it do any permanent damage?

Wow I had 350W on my old athlon 1000... you might get random reboots, like in the middle of games, but it SHOULDNT damage anything. DOn't take my word on that damage part.

Well there arent any really good micro PSU's, because you can get a normal mini tower, like the Antec Lanboy.... which is made for LAN gaming, has a strap to carry it on the top, and has all the advantages of a real ATX form factor.

Actually you can damage electronics by supplying either too much or too little juice.

Ever had a brown-out in your neighborhood that blew a light bulb?

I iamgine that heat and other considerations might be a reason for so few high-powered micoPSUs.

Alright, forget it. I've decided to screw my microatx case and go with a normal mini case. The micro case has caused nothing but headaches. What are some really good and nice looking mini tower cases? I'm really liking the Antec Lanboy. It looks sweet. Any other suggestions?

How about the Antec Solution Series SLK3700amb? It's identical to the Lanboy except it's slightly bigger and made of steel. I prefer steel over aluminum even if it saves 10 lbs. Anybody using this case?

Antec makes great cases!

For micro PSUs the 200watt ones generate incredible heat as it is, much more would be crazy. mirco PSU solutions are best for P4s not the athlons.
