when installing winxp pro i entered the cdkey and now i'm getting a prompt when i restart to register windows and it's asking for another cd key. i've tried about 10 different keys with no luck. anyone have any ideas? what will happen if i don't register windows? i can't remember having to register with my last install. thanks!

If you used a legit key, you'd have no problems. Go buy a copy of XP Pro and it will magically work.
If you don't register Windows, after 30 days it won't let you boot into the OS until you register.

If you're in college, you can get "Academic" versions of XP Pro from NewEgg for around $85.

If you own any legit MS OS such as 98 you can just buy the upgrade version for a lot less.
