    Cool All Tweaked Out ?

    SpeedGuide.net TCP/IP Analyzer

    TCP properties for IP =
    Browser/OS = Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0; .NET CLR 1.0.3705)
    Notes: Read the Analyzer FAQ if the above is not your IP address.

    TCP options string = 020405b40103030101010402
    MTU = 1500
    MTU is fully optimized for broadband.
    MSS = 1460
    Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which equals MSS.

    Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 128480
    RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 1 bits (scale factor of 2)
    Unscaled Receive Window = 64240

    RWIN is a multiple of MSS
    Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
    513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
    256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
    64240 (MSS x 44)
    bandwidth * delay product:

    Your RcvWindow limits you to: 5139.2 kbps (642.4 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
    Your RcvWindow limits you to: 2055.68 kbps (256.96 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
    MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
    Time to live left = 53 hops

    TTL value is ok.
    Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
    Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
    IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 00000000

    Adelphia Cable 1500/128
    Windows 2000 Pro
    Athlon 1900XP
    512 MB PC2700 333mhz DDR Ram

    I run tests from 4 or 5 sites everyday and night at different times and average 2700/100. Download around 350 kb/sec with Download Accelerator Plus.
    Ive tried every different RWIN, they dont make too much of a difference really.

    Do ya think Im all tweaked out ?

    I don't think you could get faster but if you want try the following in cablenut DefaultReceiveWindow = 384000
    DefaultSendWindow = 16384
    DisableAddressSharing = 1
    InitialLargeBufferCount = 200
    InitialMediumBufferCount = 480

    MediumBufferSize = 15040
    PriorityBoost = 0
    SmallBufferSize = 1280
    TransmitWorker = 32
    FastSendDatagramThreshold = 4096
    EnableFastRouteLookup = 1

    Are you finding these adjustments in the registry ? If so, where. The only key I go to do any adjusting is:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE,SYSTEM,SERVICES,Tcpip,Parameters.

    Are those setting in a different key ?

    Just export your registry to a safe place so if you do screw up it's right there. Also in cablenut they have a setting to delelte cablenut tweaks. http://www.dslnuts.com/2kxp.shtml there is all the defanitons/ where there located.

    Angry

    Guess I was tweaked to the max. Ran CableNuts settings, slowed me down some. Checked it day and night for 2 days. Imported my old settings back. Would still like to make my computer run faster on and off the internet. Think another 512 MB Ram might help ? How about changing the processor to a 2800 AMD ? Maybe just some overclocking ?

    Won't effect your Internet settings. If you follow all the instructions that are given to you from the guy's here you will max out your connection.

    Try the cablenut values agan with 3 changes

    for tcpwindow size and global max tcp window size use that 12480, Tcp opts 1.
