he wants its better than his old compaq( 1.4 ghz, integrated gc, 256 ram, etc) i wuz thinking 2.2 ghz and 768 ram. my question is scince he wants realllllllllllly queit most of all because he dont like noise, wut cooling fans and cpu heatsinks( or fans) should i get?

he expects as quiet as his compaq. i wuz thinking a zalman flower cooler? also wut case to get? mostly focused on quietness again.

    Cooling suggestion...

Case: Antec Sonata with 2 120 mm fans.

1.) Use Vantec 120mm fans (lowest rating is 20mm thick I think). Reverse the back fan to use it as intake. Duct the air to the HS. And run passive HS. (Assuming no overclocking etc).

2.) Use the case fans as usual set up. Use the SLK900 and 92mm fan combo for HS.

    3.) True Power PS.

4.) Use fan bus to control the fan speed.

5.) Use sound damping material (expensive though. )

The stock Intel HSF on the pc I built for my stepdad is really quiet, in a Lian-Li case with an Antec True power 430w ps. The only thing is you'll want to keep the fans in the front of the case on low.
